2020 Nissan Altima: New and Improved for Saint Augustine Drivers

From Palm Coast to Saint Augustine Beach, drivers are looking for the next sedan that has a distinct edge over the competition. Here at Beck Nissan, we believe we have it in the 2020 Altima. This new midsize sedan has innovative engineering and features that raise the bar for the age-old segment.

What's New in the 2020 Altima?

The current generation Altima was just introduced for 2019, so the 2020 model only gets moderate updates. Notably, the S and SR trim levels now offer more standard active safety equipment. Features like automated rear cross-traffic alert and lane departure warning are now available across the board. SV models and higher now come with standard glossy black trim pieces.

The newest Nissan Altima is truly as spacious as an SUV. It's substantially larger than the previous generation with a longer overall wheelbase. This means much more space for all five passengers. In fact, the 2020 Altima beats both the newest Camry and Accord in terms of maximum front leg room. Inside the cabin, a clean design approach avoids making the space cluttered while placing controls in easy-access areas. Available trim materials like wood and aluminum can really set the appearance off, while optional leather upholstery cradles passengers in upscale luxury. Comfort is a major factor in the new Altima as well. The new model is available with features like dual-zone automatic climate control, heated front seats, and a heated steering wheel.

There are some exciting performance developments in the latest generation of Altima models. Pioneering engineering efforts help the sedan stand apart from its more pedestrian peers. The standout performance feature for the 2020 Altima is of course its available variable compression turbo engine. The engine can automatically change its compression ratio to match your driving style. The result is an engine that can produce power when you need it most and yield impressive efficiency during cruising. Nissan has described the engine as providing V6 power with four-cylinder efficiency.

The numbers speak for themselves -- the VC Turbo engine produces 236 horsepower and 267 pound-feet of torque while allowing for up to 34 mpg highway. You can also choose the base 2.5-liter four-cylinder engine. Updates to the powerplant mean that it can now produce 188 horsepower and reach up to 34 mpg highway. Most new 2020 Altima models offer standard front-wheel drive like other sedans on the market. However, the Altima has a distinct advantage with its available Intelligent All-Wheel Drive system. The Altima's all-wheel drive system monitors grip at each wheel and varies power delivery to maximize performance in dry and slick conditions alike. It's one of the only models in its segment with this feature available.

New technology features make an even stronger case for the 2020 Altima. For instance, every new Altima comes with standard Android Auto compatibility. It's a part of NissanConnect technologies, an interface that gives you access to helpful functions like navigation and hands-free calling. Nissan Door-To-Door Navigation is particularly helpful to many drivers.
