Kelley Blue Book® Reviews the New 2017 Nissan Altima

The new 2017 Nissan Altima distinguishes itself from other midsize sedans in its class with better styling, a high-end-feeling interior and some pretty sophisticated driver assist technology, all at a very affordable price, concludes Kelley Blue Book® in a new review. The Altima also offers two attractive engine options that are fuel-efficient and hassle-free. Click play in the video clip below to watch Kelley Blue Book's full report.

The base Altima comes with a 2.5-liter four cylinder that makes 182 horsepower and 180 pound-feet of torque. EPA-rated fuel economy is an impressive 27 mpg city and 39 mpg highway, or 31 mpg combined. Also available is a 3.5-liter V6 engine that generates 270 horsepower and 251 pound-feet of torque, which is reported to get the Altima from 0-60 mph in right around 6.2 second.

The exterior of the new Altima appears to take its design cues from Nissan's luxury brand, Infiniti, which is a good thing and helps the Altima stand out from a somewhat bland group of competitors. Inside, the Altima also feels more expensive than it is. A case in point are the Nasa-inspired zero-gravity seats up front which provide exceptional comfort and support. The trunk is unusually large, with 15.4 cubic feet of space for luggage and other gear. A number of nice options are available, from a superb nine-speaker Bose audio system to a driver assist technology package that includes "predictive forward collision warning," which also can detect braking in the car in front of the car ahead of you and alert you accordingly.
