Kelley Blue Book on the 2017 Nissan Altima: A Stylish, Affordable and Comfortable Family Sedan

The Altima is not Nissan's best-selling model by accident. ®The midsize family sedan has evolved over the years to deliver a comfortable ride for parents and kids with a stylish look, the latest infotainment and driver assist technology and little-to-no need for major repairs, aside from regularly scheduled service. The 2017 Nissan Altima extends the model's reputation, and offers enhanced driver assist features. Kelley Blue Book® has the new review.

The 2017 Altima offers a choice of two very competent engines. The base model is equipped with a 2.5-liter four-cylinder that puts out 179 horsepower and 177 pound-feet of torque and delivers an impressive EPA fuel economy rating of 27 mpg city and 39 mpg highway. For more power in the passing lane and through mountain passes, go with the 3.5-liter V6 that produces 270 horsepower and 251 pound-feet of torque.

The Altima is available in seven trim levels, ranging from 2.5 to the 3.5 SL. Kelley Blue Book® recommends stepping up to the 2.5 S for an extra $400 - you'll add cruise control, a rearview monitor, automatic headlights and the NissanConnect infotainment suite. Move upstream toward the 3.5 SL and you'll get to enjoy a nine-speaker Bose premium audio system, along with heated front seats and a heated steering wheel, as well as driver assist features like adaptive cruise control and Nissan's excellent predictive forward collision warning system.
